The challenge

The constraint behind the work.

Online bridge products often preserve the dense conventions of older desktop software without creating the feeling of playing at a real table. BridgeChamp needed an experience that could serve casual games, tournaments, teaching, and serious competitive play across web and mobile.

The product also required real-time communication, reliable server operations, a localisation foundation, performance-sensitive bridge analysis, and a growth programme capable of reaching players in multiple markets.

Our role

Responsibility at the critical interfaces.

The engagement began in January 2021 with the live-chat interface. Successful delivery led to the wider game interface and then the mobile product. Each milestone expanded the team's responsibility for the next part of the platform.

Consensus Labs ultimately covered the full UI and UX design, web frontend, mobile applications, Jitsi integration, server management, localisation infrastructure, digital marketing, and a performance-sensitive C++ component for double-dummy results.

The work

What the engagement covered.

  1. 01 Redesign the board structure and game flow around a modern playing experience
  2. 02 Deliver the complete web frontend and mobile applications
  3. 03 Integrate Jitsi for live communication and manage the supporting servers
  4. 04 Implement a C++ component for double-dummy analysis where performance mattered
  5. 05 Establish the first languages and the technical workflow for further localisation
  6. 06 Support SEO, ASO, content, social media, paid campaigns, analytics, community activity, and tournament promotion

Outcome and status

A product partnership built milestone by milestone

The registered user base grew from a few hundred to several thousand within approximately six months and later passed 10,000 during the engagement.

More importantly, a focused interface assignment developed into long-term ownership across design, frontend, mobile, real-time integration, performance engineering, operations, localisation, and growth.

The engagement concluded in November 2025.

BridgeChamp demonstrates how we work with product companies over time: prove value in a focused milestone, take responsibility for the next constraint, and connect product quality with the engineering and operations behind it.
